Public Apology from Commander Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla

As a dedicated and disciplined member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, I wish to extend my sincere and unconditional apology to President Jacob Zuma and the leadership of the MK Party for the language used in my recent posts on X (formerly Twitter).

While I hold strong personal views—including concerns about internal party matters and how certain issues are managed, particularly by the Secretary General—I recognize that such issues should be addressed through appropriate internal channels. This aligns with the core values and principles that our esteemed movement upholds. I acknowledge that airing these grievances publicly was regrettable and may have compromised the unity, discipline, and respect that our party embodies.

My use of inappropriate language does not and should not reflect the revolutionary discipline, respect, and solidarity that our organization, under President Jacob Zuma’s leadership, consistently upholds. To President Jacob Zuma, the entire MK leadership, party members, supporters, and the people of South Africa, I assure you it was never my intention to harm the integrity of the party or its cherished values. I offer my deepest apologies for any offense caused.

Furthermore, I extend a formal apology to all the party structures I serve, in which I have carried out my roles with utmost humility and commitment. I hope my apology is accepted in the spirit of accountability, revolutionary solidarity, and a genuine commitment to uphold the values of the MK Party. I remain ready and willing to cooperate with any internal processes deemed necessary by the party, reaffirming my commitment to the ideals of discipline, respect, and unity.

These words were expressed by the daughter of former President Jacob Zuma, who is also a member of the MK Party. This apology follows her recent remarks targeting the party’s Secretary General, Floyd Shivambu, with profane language on X, where she instructed him to “get lost” and labeled him as inexperienced.

Despite the party’s efforts to encourage a direct apology to the Secretary General, her public apology primarily addressed the party’s leadership and did not specifically mention Floyd Shivambu, who was the focal point of her controversial posts. The remarks about Floyd Shivambu remained online, sparking curiosity about potential undisclosed issues between Duduzile and the Secretary General.
