JOB PURPOSE.
The Career Centre Intern plays a vital role in supporting the manager with graduate placements and in organizing various events for the Career Services Centre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Execute Email Campaigns: Conduct targeted email campaigns to reach potential employers and graduates.
- Guide Graduates: Provide graduates with detailed job requirements and an overview of potential employers.
- Curate Job Descriptions: Collect and organize job descriptions and company specifications for entry-level roles.
- Match Candidates: Align graduate CVs from the database with relevant job descriptions and company criteria.
- Coordinate Candidate Presentations: Facilitate meetings between candidates and prospective employers to enhance placement success.
- Verify CV Suitability: Ensure graduate CVs meet the standards set by prospective employers.
- Organize Interviews: Schedule interviews for shortlisted graduates with timely coordination.
- Prepare Graduates: Ensure graduates are well-prepared for their first day and provide ongoing support throughout their initial weeks.
- Employer Feedback: Gather feedback from employers on the candidates’ performance after their first day and up to four weeks of employment.
- Maintain Database: Regularly update the database with new information, including graduate job titles and salary details.
- Generate Reports: Produce statistical data and detailed reports for internal review and external publication.
- Promote Graduate Placement: Actively assist in the successful placement of RC graduates and prepare them for available vacancies.
- Process CVs: Handle graduate CV submissions in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Document Achievements: Write detailed reports about workshops, placements, and graduate success for internal and external communication.
- Assist in Event Planning: Support the manager in organizing events such as exhibitions, job shadowing, internships, and volunteer work to promote the center’s services.
- Schedule Coaching Sessions: Arrange for Graduate Work Readiness coaching sessions to enhance employability skills.
- Manage Workshop Logistics: Coordinate logistics for workshops, including booking venues, arranging necessary equipment, and managing catering services.
By executing these responsibilities effectively, the Career Centre Intern ensures smooth operations and supports the overall mission of the Career Services Centre.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant 3-year Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, or a Related Field
